Learn English When? In 2010!
If you only attend one English language course, then make it ours!
On the first morning of the English language course students take an assessment test to ensure they are placed in the appropriate class. We provide for all levels from English for beginners through intermediate to advanced English. Our beginners level class assumes students have studied English for a minimum of one year, either at school or evening class. If a student is a complete beginner we recommend that they enrol on an Oxford College of English Private, one-to-one, intensive English language course before joining a group course. In Oxford we offer 26 hours and 40 minutes of English language tuition per week. Lessons take place in the mornings and afternoons Monday to Friday with additional time for private study and homework. You can use the self-access study centre and library and we have a bank of computers connected to the internet, which are all free to use. Although you will be studying very hard in Oxford, we do organise some pub evenings, barbeques and quizzes.
In Northampton and Torquay we offer 15 hours English language tuition per week. On the Short-term holiday courses, lessons are followed by afternoon activities and excursions. These are all part of the programme and come as a complete package.
Our Private intensive courses offer students the opportunity of either 15 or 25 hours of one-to-one English language tuition per week. These types of course enable students to work at their own pace. Progress is regularly monitored and particular attention is given to areas of weakness and specific needs. The Private intensive courses are especially suitable for those students who need to improve their English in as short a time as possible and have the flexibility of travel dates. We also offer private one-to-one business courses.Students with specific business requirements, or in a specialised business, have the opportunity to discuss these with their tutor
The Business English courses provide 30 hours specialised English language tuition per week. These courses are specifically aimed at students who need to use English in a business environment. Many aspects of English are covered with particular attention given to both formal and informal language used in business situations. Other areas covered are: using English on the telephone, writing business letters and faxes, selling your product, oral presentations, and meetings. The Business English courses run in Northampton and Torquay.It is assumed that students enrolling on a Business English course have a reasonable general knowledge of English, otherwise we would recommend first attending one of our Private intensive courses. Our Long-term courses offer 26 hours and 40 minutes of English language tuition in Oxford or 15 hours of English language tuition in Northampton per week. Students can enrol on our Long-term courses for any period from 4-12 weeks. Students wanting to take the IELTS examianation or one of the Cambridge examinations should contact us by e-mail for details of available places and the next examination dates. Please note that with the exception of one-to-one courses, lessons do not take place on British Public holidays.
